Marjorie R. (VanGemert) Orpin, 86, of Reading, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Saturday Morning, February 16. She was the beloved wife of James F. Orpin.

Born and raised in Roslindale, she was the daughter of the late William, and the late Bertha (Cole) VanGemert. Marjorie and her husband had been living in Reading for over 50 years.

In addition to her husband James, Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Deborah Deitz and her husband David of Sharon; and one son, Mark D. Orpin and his companion Susan Bonaccorso of Wilmington. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Colin, Alison, Nolan, Ethan, and Nora; and she was preceded in death by one brother, the late William VanGemert.

A funeral service will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St. (Cor. of Woburn St.) in Reading on Tuesday afternoon, February 19 at 3:00 pm. An hour of visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 2-3:00 pm. Burial will be private.
